This Manufacturing and Engineering – Introduction course combines two VET Board Endorsed courses.  It has been developed to allow students to undertake 240 indicative hours of learning, providing 4 units of HSC credit.  This qualification defines entry-level skills and knowledge to assist workers entering employment as engineering/manufacturing employees within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. The qualification is intended for people interested in exposure to an engineering or related working environment with a view to entering into employment in that area. This qualification applies to a learning and assessment environment where access to structured on-the-job learning in a workplace may not be available.

Certificate II in Active Volunteering

This qualification reflects the role of volunteer workers and includes foundation skills required to enable them to effectively undertake volunteer work. This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry. This nationally recognised qualification will teach you how to be an effective volunteer while communicating with a diverse range of people. The course covers personal safety and wellbeing, interpersonal skills, problem-solving and basic administration.

Organisations may require volunteers to undergo relevant background checks.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 20 hours of volunteer work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.

Certificate II in Agriculture

This qualification is recognised as an entry-level qualification for employment in the Agriculture industry. The course would suit students who are interested in a career in the Agriculture Industry, working in possible jobs such as an assistant animal attendant/stockperson or Farm or Station hand/worker/labourer. Students may also wish to complete this course for general interest and to assist in part-time work while undertaking further study.

This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in agriculture. The qualification enables individuals to select a livestock production, cropping or livestock context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both cropping and livestock.

Certificate II in Construction Pathways

This qualification provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this qualification allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.

This qualification is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that are required in most Certificate III qualifications. The elective options are structured to allow choice from areas of trade skills as an introduction to a range of occupations.

Certificate II in Cookery

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in kitchens who use a defined and limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to prepare food and menu items.

They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. This qualification does not meet the requirements for trade recognition as a cook, but can provide a pathway towards achieving that.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in kitchen operations in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops; and institutions such as aged care facilities, hospitals, prisons, and schools.

Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start)

The nationally accredited Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) is your introduction to the world of electrical systems. This qualification covers competencies for work entry program providing a grounding in safety and basic skills and knowledge for work in any electrotechnology discipline. You will learn the essentials for entry-level work in this skills shortage area and be ready to take on an electrotechnology trade qualification.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

This qualification is recognised entry-level qualification for employment in the Hospitality industry. The course would suit students who are interested in a career in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry, working in hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, catering organisations, resorts, travel and tourism organisations. Students may also wish to complete this course for general interest and to assist in part-time work while undertaking further study. 

 

Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation

This course is for people interested in entering the Outdoor Recreation industry. You will develop skills and knowledge to be competent in outdoor recreation environments and assist with conducting a range of outdoor activities. This course develops the skills and knowledge required to undertake the operational logistics and the delivery of outdoor recreational activities. You will learn to use a range of fundamental activity techniques and can work as an assistant in indoor and outdoor recreation environments, adventure learning centres or camps. To become a leader of outdoor recreation activities further training is required.

Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

Certificate III in Business

Skills such as creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving are increasingly important to support collaborative work. Technology allows for collaboration between workers from different locations, contributing to globalisation and an increasing level of diversity among team members.
The sector is not aligned to a specific industry or profession. It represents a collection of job roles that require similar skills to facilitate business operations within organisations. Sectors within the business services context include compliance, conveyancing, human resources, information management, marketing, office administration, project management and work health and safety.

Certificate III in Fitness

If studies in 240 hours (2 yearss x2 units) the possible qualification outcome is a Statement of Attainment towards SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness. Students would need to undertake an additional 60 hours to receive the full qualification.  This qualification reflects the role of group and gym fitness instructors. These fitness instructors may plan and deliver group exercise sessions and develop gym-based programs for individuals where the level of personalised instruction and ongoing client monitoring is limited. They work in predictable environments under general supervision. When instructing groups or interacting with clients, they use discretion and judgment to solve routine issues within the parameters of clearly defined organisational policies and procedures.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a fitness instructor in settings such as fitness facilities, gyms, and leisure and community centres.

Certificate III in Information Technology

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are competent in a range of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) roles, including animation, basic cloud computing, basic cyber awareness, digital media skills, generalist IT support services, networking, programming, systems and web development.

Individuals who work in these fields apply broad sets of skills, including foundational knowledge in critical thinking and customer service skills, to support a range of technologies, processes, procedures, policies, people and clients in a variety of work contexts.

Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of competencies in providing services for the entertainment industry. It applies to work in scenery and set construction, lighting and sound, arts administration, entertainment customer service, music industry, film production, staging, broadcasting production, live production, entertainment administration, and entertainment technical operations work environments.

Individuals completing this qualification may provide assistance with technical support to a team and operate with discretion and judgment within known routines, methods, procedures and time constraints. They take responsibility for their own outputs and take limited responsibility for the output of others.

Certificate III in Retail

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have the primary responsibility of engaging the customer, maintaining daily store operations and delivering on organisational expectations. They have sound knowledge of product and service offerings. These individuals possess a range of well-developed skills where discretion and judgement is required. They work with some independence under limited supervision. Some individuals working at this level are responsible for supervising other team members and monitoring day-to-day workplace operations.

The qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick-service restaurants.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as frontline sales assistant, customer service representative, shop assistant, retail supervisor, team leader and senior sales assistant.
